This problem got me thinking.
there are many apps, rental agencies and options in the market for the apartment search in colombia but none of them are frictionless experience for expats
Improving the rental experience for foreigners in Colombia can have a significant impact on the country's economy. By providing a seamless and efficient rental process, more foreigners will be inclined to visit the country and choose the platform over other available options. This not only encourages economic growth through foreign investment, but it also impacts other industries as well.
Then I wonder...
How can I enhance and personalize the rental property search process for expats, and create a faster, clearer, and more enjoyable experience?

The presence of challenges and obstacles throughout the project, such as finding foreigners in the city who were willing to share their experiences, provided valuable opportunities for growth. It not only allowed me to refine my design skills and develop effective solutions but also enhanced my social skills, enabling me to read between the lines and fully understand their pain points. By persevering and making use of the available tools and techniques, I was able to overcome these hurdles and successfully create a seamless rental experience for foreigners in Colombia.
Second one
Without a refined and iterative requirement list, as well as limited resources, it was easy to lose focus and attempt to solve all of the foreigner's problems simultaneously. However, by implementing a comprehensive product, business, and user requirement list, I was able to prioritize features and functionalities within my time constraints. These lists served as a reliable reference throughout the design process, ensuring that step by step, the user's needs were met while maintaining a realistic and achievable approach.
Third one
User journeys were the essential tool that guided me in identifying the key moments, pain points, and opportunities for enhancing the apartment search experience for foreigners. Without user journeys, I would have been left guessing and potentially ignoring crucial functions that could greatly benefit the users.
Fourth one
It is often tempting to get caught up in the intricacies of design and create a visually stunning app. However, without testing and validation, it becomes difficult to determine whether the solution effectively addresses the problem or not. One of the mistakes I made during this project was spending a significant amount of time focused on making the app "cool and nice." While improving my UI skills was a personal goal, I should have balanced it with prioritizing the functionality and usability of the app.
